On your marks…

Since my last update I have pretty much had my head down training. Not so unusual and pretty much the story with every triathlete out there. In past years I have typically kicked off my season with a bang: Abu Dhabi triathlon followed by an early season Ironman. Not so this year. While it was strange following the action go down in Abu Dhabi and not be there, I feel happy with my decision. I’ve been ticking off the training sessions, building my fitness steadily and enjoying seeing the progress come without the slight panic that my first ironman is around the corner.

***Race Schedule***

With that said, I definitely have the hunger to race now. It’s only March but there have already been some stellar performances. The only way I know how I am going to stack up is by getting myself on to the start line. So, here’s how my race schedule is shaping up so far:

 – 30 March Oceanside 70.3

 – 28 April St Anthony’s 5150

 – 18 May Ironman Texas

 – 14 July Challenge Roth

Oceanside is definitely the right race to head to if I want to get a measure of where I’m at: it looks like it’s going to be loaded with talent. It’s also a race that everyone raves about so I’m looking forward to see what it’s all about. I’ll be confirming more races in the coming weeks.
